Mai and Derek - Chippenhampark Estates
Mai and Derek booked the beautiful Chippenham park estate two years in advance. They fell in love with the stunning estate’s, award-winning gardens and marquee. Chippenham Park is a family estate. The house, gardens, and park were created at the very end of the 17th century by Admiral Lord Russell.
Mai and her mum decorated all areas of the wedding venue beautifully. They chose white, coral and blush flowers which they bought from Triangle Nursery and arranged themselves. In the morning, Mai's brother styled her hair into loose glamourous curls. She wore a beautiful dress designed by Watters. A vintage-inspired lace top and soft netting skirt. The gorgeous blush Bridesmaids dresses were from Asos. Derek looked dapper in his navy Hugo Boss suit.
They had their wedding ceremony in the beautiful house and the reception in the marquee. The ceremony was very emotional for everyone. It was conducted by a very dear friend. Derek couldn't contain his emotions when he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. Their vows had everyone hooked on every word. Mai: "I promise to fight a rat for you if the situation ever arises. I promise to try to criticise your driving less. I promise to try every vegetarian burger out there until you find the one. Most of all, I promise to love you, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, til death do us part. I love you and I like you." Derek's promises were: "I will always drive you places, even when you complain about my driving. I will bring you crisps whenever you want. Take you on holiday to wherever you want to go, and I will kill all the spiders that occupy any place that we live. Most of all, I promise to give you the rest of my life. I am yours from now until the rest of the time and my only regret is that we only get one lifetime together. I know it won't be enough. I love you, and I like you. You are my soulmate". As you can imagine, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
After this everyone made their way outside to the beautiful surroundings of Chippenham park, with laughter coming from every single corner of the gardens and house; Mai and Derek caught up with all their guests.
While it did rain on their wedding day, nothing was going to stop the smiles and sheer joy everyone felt for them. I loved that they hired a bouncy castle and despite it being wet had so much fun jumping in the rain :) This fun and celebration continued onto the dance floor big time.
They met ten years ago to the day from their wedding day at a party celebrating the end of their exams! Mai and Derek, thank you for allowing me to capture these memories for you, and I hope you love them as much as I do. It was wonderful to be your wedding photographer. Wishing you both so much love and all the happiness in the world for your adventure together! Rx
