I can not describe the connection I felt between both Harriet and Nick when I first met them. It was only when their story unfolded that I grasped a real understanding of their journey and why I was so drawn to them. Whilst working together both were diagnosed with significant health problems. Nick was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis and Harriet was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma a form of blood cancer. An extremely challenging time brought them closer together as friends. Following a few months of treatment Harriet and Nick started dating and their romance flourished.
Their wedding was extremely special. It not only symbolised their love and commitment but also a victory against the odds. They wanted a beautiful relaxed celebration with their family and friends.
They picked South Farm because they are both food lovers. The venue grow their own produce and have highly skilled chefs that cook amazing seasonal dishes. The farmhouse was surrounded by listed barns; all restored and home to friendly rare-breed farm animals.
The barn looked stunning. The tables were decorated with lots of greenery and pretty flowers. The wedding stationary was designed by Wildflowers Illustrations; a collection of beautiful unique water colour illustrations. Nicks mum knitted finger puppets for the children to play with. I love how Harriet and Nick chose a Harry Potter theme for the table names.
The day started very relaxed with Harriet getting ready at the venue with her three bridesmaids and her mum. The bridesmaids wore beautiful grey dresses from Oasis that looked stunning. Harriet's brother walked her down the isle. She looked incredible, wearing a soft pink Catherine Dean gown which had a floral lace bodice and a tulle skirt. So pretty and fairytale like. Nick looked swish in his blue suit by Ted Baker. The ceremony was highly charged and emotional for all.
Following the ceremony the guests made their way to the bar for the beginning of the reception and I had some time with Harriet and Nick to take the couple portraits. We headed to the barn where the little piglets, geese and white peacocks were. My favourite photo's of the portrait session where taken here. I tried to get the white peacocks involved in the shoot but sadly they were a little shy. This, however, could not be said of the piglets who took a liking to Harriets dress. They have good taste even though a little expensive! :)
The evening continued with so much love and laughter from the speeches to the dance floor. It was a beautiful day that couldn't have been more perfect.
Harriet and Nick I wish you all the best. It was an absolute honour to be part of your big day! Thank you and wishing you the most wonderful future! Much Love, Razia xx
